We just love hearing stories from students that are just
bursting to make a difference and tell others why they should do
all they can to look after our beautiful planet.
We get so much joy when we receive letters in the post, or
emails and photos of what the Green Lane Diary is inspiring kids to
do within their own communities.
Natalie from Ravenswood School for Girls wrote to us and
said "At school we have a nude food program going
on Tuesday, Wendsday and Thursdy. I have done al the actions
on the action tracker and more. Last year l made
a movie about saving the planet. It was about not throwing rubbish
in the ocean because it can make our sea life really sick. I really
enjoy gardening and planting vegies and fruits. My favourite part
of growing plants is harvesting them. I love your website it
is really fun."
An email we received from a treasured teacher in a remote part of
the Northern Territory was no exception! The kids in this school
are just itching to really make an impact in their town and we just
want to shout out a big THANK YOU to the wonderful Grade 3 students
at Alyangula Area School in Groote Eylandt, Northern Territory.
One of the students, Lily organised for aluminium pull tops on
cans to be collected so that they could be sent to Thailand where
they can be reycled and made into artificial limbs for those that
have been severly injured by land mines. How incredible is
that!
But wait, theres more inspiration, Jackson lent a hand in
greening the island by helping get healthy gardens going at a
friends new place, and we agree gardening is fun and its not that
tricky! Bronte got the whole town involved with a big clean up.
Arya, Reeve and Abby also were very innovative in donating old
books and writing to council for more water bubblers to elliviate
the need for plastic!
Fantastic job guys!
