About
The Green Lane Diary is Green
Cross Australia's award-winning education program for primary
school children.
It is a free program aligned to the national curriculum for
years 3-7. Designed by industry experts and education specialists,
the diary empowers children to learn about the environment through
positive action at home, at school and in the community.
By working through topics like water, waste, energy and
biodiversity, young people turn 10 weeks of discovery into
practical actions. They record these actions in a daily diary, or
through photos and videos. At the end of the program, Green Cross
Australia uses these measures to review all the wonderful actions
taken by students and classes across Australia, to award them at
the Green Lane
Awards.
Greenlanediary.org is an interactive, multimedia website
supporting the Green Lane Diary project run by Green Cross
Australia.
The Green Lane Diary website was awarded the:
- 2010 National Award for Best Education Website - Australian Web
Awards
- 2010 Interactive Media Award for Outstanding Achievement for
excellence in the design, development and implementation, Charity
category - Interactive Media Awards
- 2010 Interactive Media Award for Outstanding Achievement for
excellence in the design, development and implementation,
Kids category - Interactive Media Awards
And here is a welcome message from Mara, Green Cross
Australia:
Don't let environmental problems get you down. Knowledge is
power! Learn about what is going on and start doing something to
help. All of the little steps combine to make a big difference.
Use your diary to keep track of your ideas and check out the
website and iPad magazine for even more inspiration. Then share
what you are doing and let us know what you have been up to. You
might be crowned a 2013 Green Lane Hero or have your story featured
online.
Remember, kids can make a difference. You don't need to wait
until you are taller. Get started today!!!
IT'S DIARY TIME!
