Green Lane Diary
Week 10
Week 10 is the final week of Green Lane Diary program.
Thank you for taking part! We hope the Green Lane Diary has helped your class understand that simple, everyday actions can make a big difference.

Week 10's topic ‘Destination Clean & Green’ focuses on a future where we all live sustainably. We need the help of our young people to reach that goal!

Celebrate the success of your projects or nominate your Green Lane Heroes! Every year we love to recognise our standout students and schools at a huge Green Lane Diary awards ceremony. Simply share your projects or ideas from the program with us to nominate your class or standout student.

A sustainable future

In the same month, Makati City in Manila banned plastic bags, styrofoam containers and plastic cups to reduce plastic waste. Sustainable cities are all around us!

Plastic Soup
Every year Aussies use more than 4 billion plastic bags and we only recycle 3 per cent. Plastic Soup is a clever short film about this plastic waste pollution. The music for the film was created entirely from recycled plastic waste products - how clever! Instruments were made from items in the rubbish/recycle bin, like a drumkit made from a used roll of tape and percussion instruments made from forks, lids and plastic bags. Check out the video with your class.

About The Project
Green Lane Diary is an exciting environmental education program for Australian schools and community associations. It aims to empower young people with the knowledge that their everyday actions can have a hugely positive impact on our environment, both now and in the future.
