Green Lane Diary
Week Two
A big thank you to everyone for adapting to this year’s digital Green Lane Diary format! Remember, you can download and print your own Green Lane Diary from the web.

Simply open the Green Lane Diary link, hit "Share" (in the footer) and then select "Download". We’re hoping to secure funding so we can print and distribute the diaries in 2014.

Now it's Week Two, Green Lane Diary is starting to amp-up! Ask your class to write diary entries in their Scrapbooks about their ideas and projects for home or school. Then, share these great ideas and actions with us by uploading a postcard to our interactive map!

The Eco Owl committee presented a new environmental topic each week at school assembly, to encourage others to take positive action. They also awarded prizes to students spotted doing the right thing.

Big news: a whale spotted in Bondi
Surfers in Sydney's Bondi Beach were thrilled recently when a whale surfaced close to the beach. Although the mammal appeared happy and curious, it knocked out a surfer when it flicked its enormous tail. The man was okay, but it's a timely reminder that we need to be careful when we see animals in the wild. Would your class know what to do if they saw a whale in the wild? Start a discussion with them about why a whale would be so close to the beach - very unusual behavior!
